Singapore Chinese Historical Network

An interactive network of 784 Singapore Chinese historical figures and 1,214 ties, sourced from the Singapore Biographical Database (NUS) and the 新华历史人物列传 chronicles (NLB). Nodes are colour-coded by dialect group — Hokkien, Teochew, Canton, Hakka, Sam Kiang, Hainan — and sized by connection count; clicking a node opens a biography card with portraits, kinship and business ties, and ancestral-home geography. A second view layers migration arcs over 1911 province boundaries, charting the diaspora from Fujian and Guangdong to the Straits Settlements. A long-form Straits Times article variant frames the same lattice as the story of the families who shape the Singaporean Chinese identity.
